BOOM! presents The Midas Flesh
BOOM! Studios is launching its new imprint, BOOM! Box, in December and is kicking things off with the debut print comic book series from Adventure Time’s Ryan North.
North teams with Adventure Time partners Shelli Paroline and Braden Lamb to present The Midas Flesh. The book tells the story of Fatima and her space crew and their return to an Earth that’s far different from the one the left behind. This Earth is abandoned, sectioned off and covered in gold. Yes, covered in gold…think the myth of King Midas but on a global scale. And there’s a dinosaur too.
The group is eager to a) find out what’s happened to the planet and b) what they can use to help them fend off an evil empire that’s hot on their tails. The oversized first issue is scheduled to hit store shelves December 18 for $3.99. As an added bonus, North will hand-letter dialogue on each variant cover.
BOOM! Box is a chance for some of the industry’s most creative and innovative talents to spread their wings and produce titles unique to the line.
