Seven Seas Acquires Riddle Story of Devil and More for 2015
Manga publisher Seven Seas Entertainment has kicked off 2015 with a bang, by licensing four new series to be distributed in the year.
In a series of tweets, Seven Seas announced the acquisition of Akuma no Riddle: Riddle Story of Devil, Golden Time, Merman in My Tub and Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation. Pictured above, Akuma no Riddle: Riddle Story of Devil by writer Yun Kouga and artist Sunao Minakata tells the story of an all-female boarding school and its classroom of assassins. A student named Haru Ichinose has become the prime target for these assassins, but Tokaku Azuma–an assassin who transferred schools for the job–has a change of heart and decides to protect her instead. The first volume is slated for October 2015. Funimation licensed the 2014 anime series.
The manga adaptation of Golden Time by Umechazuke follows the light novel series by Yuyuko Takemiya. The romantic school comedy is about Banri Tada, a college student who lost his memories after graduating from high school, and the other students at his academy. Volume one of Golden Time will also be available in October 2015. Sentai Filmworks licensed the 2014 anime series.
Mermaid in My Tub, the four-panel gag manga by Itokichi, is scheduled for October 2015. The series is described as a “heartfelt comedy” about a teenage boy named Tatsumi and the merman freeloader named Wakasa, who resides in Tatsumi’s bathtub. It’s an Odd Couple type dynamic, as Wakasa’s selfish attitude often clashes with Tatsumi’s serious personality. Cruncyroll streamed the anime series last year, under its Japanese name Orenchi no Furo Jijo.
Lastly, Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation will be released in November 2015. The manga adaptation by Yuka Fujikawa is based on the original light novel series by Rifujin na Magonote. The series is about a “34-year-old virgin NEET” who is suddenly killed in a traffic accident and reborn in an anime-inspired world of swords and sorcery.
