yeah I see Ooo is an Adventure Time Android game and VR viewer with a retail price of £24.99. “£24.99?!” you question with disbelief, followed by an inevitable “is it terrible?”  to which I would say that it definitely  is £24.99 and add that it’s actually a very good product.  You will need a 5-5.7” Android phone to play, but everything else is in the box.

So what are you getting? In terms of the game, I see Ooo is three mini games each with 20 levels. Snowball Fight and Glider Flight are included with the Android app and Puzzle Path is available via download soon. Each level can be completed with a 1-3 star rating, so the urge will be there to get three stars for everything. There also a 3D tree house to explore.

Snowball Fight, as you might guess, involves a snowball fight. It’s with penguins to be precise, and those well-dressed birds attack in force from all angles. Looking at them causes a snowball to be thrown at them. If you get hit, your health gets lower. This was a lot of fun but Glider Flight was my personal favourite. You can probably guess that Glider Flight involves navigating a glider. You go through skies and cave, collect stars on the way but need to avoid flying into things and make sure you keep going through a path of circular clouds to keep you in the air, because those clouds give you lift. I’ve not played Puzzle Path but I would guess it involves puzzles. So overall the games are enjoyable and should provide many hours of entertainment. It might be the ideal thing for December 25th this year…

The Adventure Time themed VR viewer is similar to the Google Cardboard but with nice Jake the Dog artwork that makes people look like they’re a real life Snapchat filter. It has a glossy coating to it, which will probably help the lifetime. The potential longevity of cardboard is something that might worry some potential buyers, but I wouldn’t worry too much.  The one I used was a review version which must have been through several hundred pairs of hands in its short life. It was still in very good condition and looked like it would cope easily with another several hundred pairs of hands. I’d imagine if you bought one and looked after it, it’ll still be fine after 3-5 years and possibly longer. You can see in the pictures that it is used but surviving well.

The technology is a little like a ViewMaster, which was like mystical witchcraft when I was a child. The phone screen is split into two and a lens is used to focus each eye for a 3D view. The bright cartoon graphics are ideal for the technology. You are essentially placing your eyes very close to a mobile phone screen so there are limitations. There is a timer setting to force the children to take a rest and it’s recommended that you have someone with and play sitting you when you’re playing for safety. If you’re an adult you might choose to ignore these recommendations but don’t blame me if you break a leg when you trip over and then can’t see your phone because you can’t focus more than 6cm in front of your face. Highly recommended if you’re a fan of Adventure Time. I mean, you have a child who is a fan of Adventure Time of course. Yeah boi!

I See Ooo is available online from Forbidden Planet and Pyramid Shop.
