Podcast Interview: The Manhattan Projects’ Nick Pitarra
Posted By Jason Tabrys on June 14, 2013
Nick Pitarra is the gifted, easy going, and hilarious co-creator and artist of The Manhattan Projects for Image Comics. In this interview with myself and Jeremy R! Hudson on Radiobastard.com‘s The Bastardcast, Nick talks a little bit about the virtue of having recognizable characters while operating in the indie world, his artistic inspirations, the thrill of being nominated for an Eisner, and his planned epic and drunken victory speech.
We also discuss the greatness of Manhattan Projects co-creator/writer Jonathan Hickman, the coming return of both guest artist Ryan Browne and Oppenheimer Land, weird commission requests, and superheroes covered in glue and eating nachos.
As for what Radiobastard is: well, it’s the batcave, our fortress of solitude, and the place where Jeremy and myself talk incessantly about the nerd news of the week and whatever else catches our eye. Usually it’s just us, but occasionally we’ll invite some peers or nerd titan’s to stop on by, and now, we’ll be inviting Nerdspan‘s readers to give us a listen and enjoy the sonic carnage on a weekly basis.
Anyway, check out the interview and be sure to read Leo Johnson’s review of Manhattan Projects #12, which is on store shelves right now.
