Archie Comics has cancelled their controversial Kickstarter, but reassured their fans that the three new Archie titles are still in the pipeline with delayed release dates. For instance, the much anticipated Jughead #1. to be written by Chip Zdarsky, is slated for this October instead of September.
In an open letter to CBR yesterday, Archie Comics Publisher and CEO Jon Goldwater said that this decision was made because the conversation was becoming more about criticizing their crowdfunding, and not about the comics. Goldwater also told CBR that he wanted to remove the creators involved with the comics from the scrutiny of fans.
