This week’s episode of The Magicians, The Fillorian Candidate, has once again flipped things for our merry band of questing magicians, and has done it in typical humorous style.

At this point of the season, all sorts of calamities have struck our intrepid band, and they are all in various broken states. This casts a darker shadow over this episode and it is generally darker and more downbeat that usual.

We’re now into the the next phase of season 2, with Episode 5 – ‘Cheat Day’, and The Magicians is really stretching its legs with the narrative, and revealing a bit more behind the curtain.
