Loot Anime: Toasty (Review, Spoilers)

While Toasty was supposed to be winter themed, this late Loot Anime crate was nonetheless well suited for summer, due to featuring the red-hot anime Assassination Classroom, RWBY, and My Hero Academia.

My favorite item in Toasty was the Assassination Classroom pillow, which flips to whichever of Koro-sensei’s emoji-like faces you prefer. While I can’t get past the intro of the anime, I do enjoy the Assassination Classroom manga, and Koro-sensei in particular is an interesting character, being like a fusion of Mr. Schue from Glee, your unstoppable Dragon Ball character of choice, and Alfred E. Neuman. Just large enough for me to tuck under my head or arm, this will immediately go into service on the couch, and will no doubt be not quite such a bright shade of yellow by the end of the week.

While I have yet to sample RWBY, I must admit this is a particularly remarkable blanket, which will no doubt steer many curious people towards the anime. On a cold day, they’ll slip under this fuzzy blanket, which will seal the deal and make them fans. As we already have our favorite nerdy blankets, this blanket may not work its spell so easily here, but I can’t deny its tremendous production values.

While I’m a big My Hero Academia fan, Bakugo is one of my least favorite characters in any franchise, ever, for I should never like to admire anyone who has encouraged suicide (cf. My Hero Academia volume 1, or the first arc of the anime)–least of all a fictional bully with countless fans who, for some reason, envy his attitude. That said, there are five My Hero Academia fans in this house, my opinion is in the minority, and someone here will no doubt be happy to wear these admittedly cool wristbands.

While online art for the My Hero Academia patch featuring Endeavor looks great, it was not ready in time for shipment, and will be sent out later to those who subscribed to the Toasty Loot Anime crate.

Toasty was a good crate, and would have been an excellent one in the winter, having a cool pillow and blanket to keep you toasty warm. While my favorite item might prove to be the late Endeavor patch, the pillow is a fantastic piece to accent our living room, and the blanket and the wristbands will be appreciated.
