For millennia, the celestial energies of the Zodiac have been available to those whose consciousness is open to their manipulation. That access has only been achieved by a select few—twelve, to be exact. One such hero is THE LIBERAIDER, a master hacker and self-styled “Robin Hood Of Cyberspace.” In New Zodiax #3, he takes on—real life PODCASTERS!
Podcasting has become more and more popular in the last few years, thanks to stars like Marc Maron, Neil DeGrasse Tyson and The Nerdist network. At the forefront of the podcast movement is Kevin Smith’s Smodcast Network. Smith is so into the world of podcasting that he recently featured a podcaster as his main character in the dark and twisted comedy, TUSK.
For the first time ever in the pages of comic books, two real life podcasters –DW and Joe Nub from FanboysInc’s IncCast—will play key roles in a storyline. A gang of scavengers known as the Dregs pirate the IncCast’s live comics and pop culture broadcast as a means to communicate amongst themselves without being monitored by the dystopic city they live in. Actual conversations from IncCast episodes were sampled in the story’s dialogue. It’s up to THE LIBERAIDER to hack and trace the pirated signal and bring the Dregs to heel.
