The Landmark Scavenger Hunt

After the Eighth Elimination challenge and its somewhat unsurprising upset, especially after seeing the submitted strips by Abby and Tavis, we’re down to The Final Four!

At what …

Strip Search 1.25: Where High Concept Loses To Hilarity

Minus one of these will leave us with four. Math is cool.

It’s Tavis vs. Abby in the Iron Artists’ art-off! And, per the “standards” set by the creators, Mike Krahulik and Jerry Holkins, we’re privy to another Ramsey-esque round of heckling. You’ve got to admit that this aspect is the closest we’ve come to what television calls reality TV nowadays. Except it’s far funnier and not intentionally hurtful or insane.

Strip Search 1.24: That’s President Ojama To You

That

“Quick & Consistent” makes a very good point about what purchasing something from the artists means to the fans. For the artists, it’s one of perhaps thousands of …

Warehouse 13 4.14: Horses and Flying and Magic, Oh My!

W13CastPhoto

Last week’s brilliant black and white noir episode brought panache and style along with an amazing duo of guest stars. It also brought Artie back into active, if reckless duty…. This week, we return to our regular agent pairings and Las Vegas versus New England cases for our favorite artifact finders.

Orphan Black 1.8: An Entanglement of Clones

OrphanBlackBanner

Sarah has given her personal deets to Helena in exchange for her and Paul’s safety. Helena has trimmed Olivier’s tail. Art has discovered Sarah Manning in connection to Katja and Beth, though he doesn’t know the whys or hows…. And that’s where we are as we plummet into “Entangled Bank,” two episodes away from the season’s finale.

Strip Search 1.23: We’re An Artist Safari. Of Awesome.

The tiniest bit of down time.

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q21PJ7GbbRM]

While I’d bet heavy cash that half the viewing audience viewed this episode as slow and droll, the other half, who happen to be as wise as myself, …

Supernatural 8.23: A Finale Worth Falling For

Sam-Castiel-Dean-supernatural-without-those-stupid-numbers

Even after seven seasons of fighting, saving, dying and apocalypses, hearing the sweet refrains of “Carry on Wayward Son” still manages to bring a giddy excitement and no dearth of tears. Right away, we’re plunked back into Crowley’s machinations of messing around with any and all friends of the Winchesters and those they’ve saved.

Strip Search 1.22: Monica Is My Hero (And I Love Mike)

Monica shushing Mike.

[youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91s4r_ld0OE]

Monica and Lexxy head to the 7th elimination. Today’s topics: Rollerskates (Monica), and Dinosaurs (Lexxy). This ought to be completely fascinating.

I am not disappointed. But it’s not …

Orphan Black 1.7: Lessons In Changing The Control Group

OrphanBlackBanner

Three genetic identicals are working together: Alison, Cosima, and Sarah. Alison and Cosima have monitors, but no one is really sure who they are. The dead identical, Beth, had a monitor, Paul, who unknowingly was monitoring Sarah. Now Sarah and Paul have a somewhat honest truce, even with Olivier playing puppeteer…

Strip Search 1.21: Winning is Lined with Awesome

Katie

I have to admit I particularly enjoyed this table tennis ep a lot more than last week’s snooze fest. Learning how doubles is played was interesting, notably that each player must alternate hitting the ball. If any one teammate hits the ball twice in a row, it’s point for the other team.

Warehouse 13 Goes Noir, Chats with Galaxy Quest Guest Stars

Missi Pyle (far left) and Enrico Colantoni (center) in 1999

On May 8th, Missi and Enrico got together with Jack Kenny to talk about the episode, Galaxy Quest, and crack a bunch of jokes that had everyone laughing. Haven’t seen Galaxy Quest? Stop reading and go watch! It’s a fan favorite for a reason.

Strip Search 1.20: It’s Paddlin’ Time

Tavis and Katie, ballin

Day 7 begins! Graham tells the six remaining artists to pack their bags and load up. it’s another physical challenge. Robert Khoo, the reigning Penny Arcade table tennis champ, greets everyone and explains the importance of the sport to the inner workings of the Penny Arcade mega-machine. Which, yes, it’s totally true, but come on, could we please see some more art?
