Step between the ropes with Ringside’s second arc in August
On the heels of the release of volume one in trade paperback June 15, the Ringside team of Joe Keatinge and new artist Nick Barber are set to launch the second act of the ongoing series.
Fans were taken backstage and given a look at the art, industry and identity in the world of professional wrestling through the eyes of the performers themselves, the creative team, the suits and the audience who eats up every dropkick, bodyslam and frog splash.
“Ringside‘s first act is entitled ‘Kayfabe,’ after the wrestling term meaning the scripted ‘reality’ of what happens in the ring and dealt, in part, with the different realities we build around ourselves,” said Keatinge. “The second is entitled ‘Work,’ which goes into the wrestling terminology meaning anything which is planned to happen, ‘working a crowd,’ but quickly delves into how hard it is to maintain false narratives and, in turn, the devastating consequences of their hidden truths.”
In issue #6, Danny Knossos is the main event. He has made a Faustian pact to save his beloved’s life, but as his deal crosses over with his life between the ropes, he finds he’s in for more than he ever bargained for.
Ringside #6 debuts on August 10. Volume one, Kayfabe, hits shelves June 15.
