Mehcad Brooks will play Jimmy Olsen in the live action Supergirl series for CBS.
Variety broke the news late Wednesday, describing the young photographer as a love interest for Supergirl. Here’s the full description from Variety:
Jimmy, based on the DC Comics character, is an attractive photographer at CatCo, the media company where Kara Zor-El works, as an assistant to Cat Grant, (yet to be casted). Recently, Jimmy has been living and working in National City, though the reason is still a secret.
In the Superman comics, Jimmy is a photojournalist for the Daily Planet. He’s also friends with Superman and Lois Lane. Last Thursday, CBS cast Melissa Benoist to play the lead role in Supergirl.
