Quirky was a wonderful celebration of its theme not simply from its anime choices, but from its product selections, which included not only a t-shirt that is eye-catching in its eccentricity, but a zany pillow and hanky to cry your quirky heart out, and items representing two offbeat manga (one only somewhat, but the other positively outlandish). Items included represented Pop Team Epic, Konosuba: God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World, Pikotaro, Delicious in Dungeon, and Baccano!.

My favorite item in Quirky for its sheer novelty was the exclusive Konosuba: God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World pillow which depicts the series roster in eight bit style both on the white front, in which they form a repeating pattern, and on the light blue back, which displays them in an ‘about face’ position. Konosuba was also represented by this month’s poster art,

My second favorite item in Quirky is the exclusive Pop Team Epic tee for the whimsical visuals and a creative design which extends to the front and back of the light blue shirt.

Which is not to say that I wasn’t pleased with this month’s Loot Pin and reading material, as I’ve reviewed the subjects of both items on NerdSpan. This month’s pin, featuring the cover art to volume one of Ryoko Kui’s Delicious in Dungeon, was a welcome addition, as I’m a fan of the series, and can attest to the fact that it not only fits the definition of this month’s Quirky theme, but it is a delight to read. I also enjoyed the first volume of Ryohgo Narita and Shinta Fujimoto’s Baccano!, if not as much as DinD, and was pleased to receive the Loot Crate edition of the manga, as though I already have the standard printing, this one has a chunk of Narita and Fujimoto’s Dead Mount Deathplay, which I’m intrigued to read.

Quirky also included an exclusive Pikotaro handkerchief which is sending me to Google now, as I know next to nothing about this IP. While it succeeds as a handkerchief, I would probably be more inclined to use it as a coaster.

Overall, Quirky was a nice assortment of oddball items from not only quirky but lesser known properties (with the exception of Konosuba). I couldn’t have guessed a single item in this box from the available clues, which didn’t stop me from being pleased with many of the items, especially the pillow, the shirt, and the Delicious in Dungeon pin.

While Quirky is no longer available, until June 27th you can order Action, with goodies from Naruto Shippiden, Alita Battle Angel, Claymore, Goblin Slayer, and Zodiac War.
