This week is all about survival for the the two nerd teams, Blextrophy and Servants of the Forsaken Orb (SFO). Each team is down to only 3 players and they each know that at this point it is anybody’s game. Half of the competition has been eliminated and the contestants can begin to taste victory for themselves. They know the chances that they may be voted into the Nerd Off and subsequently sent home is a great risk as well.

Acid

Bobby and Curtis

The teams are summoned to the fountain area to receive their next challenge and as they arrive, what a sight they see. Bobby is dressed as a hippie from the 60’s,(right on man), and Curtis is dressed as what can best be described as an LSD space princess from a Heavy Metal anthem. Curtis seems to be very comfortable in his acid maiden outfit. Maybe he is embracing his inner drag queen or would that be “her” inner drag queen? The next challenge will be for each team to write and perform a song relating to nerds, a “Nerd Anthem.”

Each team is provided with two dance choreographers and one music engineer to assist them in this challenge. SFO decides to go with a rap song and Blextrophy goes with more of a pop style song. Both teams have concerns about going into this challenge in regards to their dance ability and remembering their lyrics. The expert judges for this challenge are MC Frontalot  and Garfunkel and Oates.

SFO Performance

SFO Performs “Nerds Are Kings”

Blextrophy performs first with their song “Talk Nerdy To Me” and does a good job. Celeste appears to have beaten her fear of being in front of people and all the team members perform really well. They just need a little work on their singing. Virgil’s auto tune sound was kind of creepy. Now, SFO must follow a good performance and bring their “A game” if they hope to win. They bust out the rhymes with their song “Nerds Are King” and they absolutely blow it off the hook! Danielle even threw out some dirty girl lyrics about Harry Potter and his broom stick. Yeah Boy! Their song has a rap/hip hop style, the lyrics are crisp, and they sing fantastic. MC Frontalot describes SFO’s performance saying, “That was quite solid.” (Word Front, word..) SFO’s beat and lyrics were catchy. Tomorrow there will be car rolling in the hood blasting those tunes(well, at least in a rural suburb).

Now, Blextrophy must vote for one of their own to go to the Nerd Off and they choose Virgil. Celeste and Genevieve feel they are closer and work better together. SFO votes for Genevieve since she is their strongest player.

Nerdy Dancing Frown

Hulk voice- “Genevieve Sad”

The Nerd Off will be a dance contest on the XBOX Kinect game “Dance Central 3.” Genevieve is concerned because she has played the game before and does not do very well. Celeste helps Genevieve with the game during their preparation time in hopes she can get Genevieve to improve and have a chance to stay in Nerdvana. During the Nerd Off both Virgil and Genevieve do very well, they each score over 1 million points. It is Genevieve that edges out Virgil for the win and now he is banished from Nerdvana.

After Virgil leaves, the teams are told that their teams are no more, it is everyone for themselves. With two more episodes left and 5 contestants, this is winding up to be an exciting finale. How many will be allowed into the finale? 4, 3, or maybe only 2? What song did you like best? “Talk Nerdy To Me” or  “Nerds Are King”?
