Jet City Comics by Amazon Publishing Launched
Amazon has launched a new imprint designed for comic books and graphic novels called Jet City Comics.
JetCity Comics, the 12th imprint in Amazon’s in-house publishing division, has signed on numerous celebrity authors like Game of Throne’s George R.R. Martin for its launch. Their first comic available now, Symposium #1 by Christian Cameron and Dmitry Bondarenko, is set in Neal Stephenson’s The Foreworld Saga as a stand-alone title. In October, Martin will release two graphic novel prequels to his A Song of Ice and Fire series (the inspiration for HBO’s Game of Thrones) and an original comic called Meathouse Man. October will also see a comic book adaptation of Wool, the dystopian tale by Hugh Howey.
Helming the comic book imprint is Alex Carr, who previously served as a content acquisition editor for Amazon Publishing. Carr has also contributed weekly posts about graphic novels for Omnivoracious, a literature blog run by Amazon editors.
