GLAAD announced the nominees for their 27th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, and DC Comics leads publishers in the Outstanding Comic Book category with two nominations:  Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti, Chad Hardin, John Timms, and Jed Dougherty’s Harley Quinn; and, Steve Orlando, Aco, Hugh Petrus, Alec Morgan, and Stephen Mooney’s Midnighter.

Also nominated were Noelle Stevenson, Shannon Watters, Kat Leyh, Carolyn Nowak, and Brooke Allen’s Lumberjanes from BOOM! Studios; Marguerite Bennett, Kim Jacinto, Israel Silva, and Stephanie Hans’s Angela, Queen of Hel from Marvel Comics; and, Kieron Gillen, Jamie McKelvie, Kate Brown and Tula Lotay’s The Wicked + The Divine from Image Comics.

Winners will be announced in the Spring.  The comics award is typically given away at the second of two gala celebrations, which this year will take place in New York City on May 14th, 2016.  The first night of awards takes place in Los Angeles on Aprul 2nd.
