Ever since Disney bought the Star Wars franchise for $4 billion, the House of Mouse has done some very daring things with the former George Lucas space opera. J. J. Abrams was announced as director for Star Wars: Episode 7, EA was given exclusive rights to produce Star Wars games, and a new CGI Star Wars series is being helmed by Young Justice writer, Greg Weisman. Sadly, it doesn’t look like Disney has any plans to work Star Wars into their other highly expensive acquisition, Marvel Comics. Which is a shame, considering the great crossover pitch Patton Oswalt made on Parks and Recreation.
Thankfully, JJKirby and Jon Bolerjack aren’t letting this golden opportunity go to waste with their illustrated mash-up of Star Wars Clone Troopers as the Avengers. Below are Kirby and Bolerjack’s collaborated art set featuring Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hawkeye, and the Hulk as the clone army.
