This week, Archie Comics releases Archie #2, which, among other things, takes a fresh look at Jughead Jones and Betty Cooper.  Also on the racks this Wednesday is Mega Man #52, and a new digital exclusive, Little Archie & Friends: Playdates, arrives on digital storefronts this Friday.

If you lolly-gagged and didn’t add Archie to your pull list yet, you may want to consider a few things. A) Archie #1 sold out last month, and was the 7th best selling comic in July.  B)  Comic retailers usually over order #1 issues compared to #2 issues.   C)  Unlike most #2 issues, which do show a decline in sales (the reason for B), we can’t expect the attrition of reader interest, because Archie #1 was a fantastic #1 issue, nearer the level of high and historic quality (Fantastic Four #1) than the low and ephemeral (Team America #1).  With demand still high and supply guaranteed to be low due to the shortsightedness of many retailers, Archie #2 will be very hard to find on Wednesday.  So rather than grabbing a loose copy when you get to the comic shop, you may want to call in any favors you have with your retailer to make sure that that loose copy is already in your pull.
