Eastman

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman has signed an exclusive contract with IDW Publishing.

IDW announced the signing at Seattle’s Emerald City Comicon on Sunday. Under the deal, all of Eastman’s future projects will be created under the IDW banner.

“Kevin is one of my oldest friends in comics and it makes me extremely happy that he’s going to be part of the IDW team, said IDW CEO and Publisher Ted Adams. “Kevin’s contribution to pop culture can’t be overstated and everyone at IDW is looking forward to helping him bring his new ideas into the world.”

The genesis of the Eastman-IDW relationship came in 2011 with the launch of IDW’s new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. Since then, Eastman has worked with the publisher on several projects, including reprints of classic Ninja Turtles stories, special limited editions and cover art for the new series.

Several new projects will be announced in the coming months.

Eastman will be joining the IDW staff on-site in their new digs in San Diego’s historic Liberty Station NTC offices, and his work will be the first displayed at the inaugural San Diego Comic Art Gallery.
