Titan comics has released the A and B covers to Independence Day #1 and #2.

The A cover to Independence Day #1 is particularly brilliant, as it is a great mash-up of patriotic iconography and classic science fiction book covers.  It is reminiscent of this classic cover to Childhood’s End, for instance, although diminishing the cityscape and shaping the alien beam like the Washington Monument is much more crafty.  In this case, less is definitely more.

Independence Day #1 is slated for March 2nd, and #2 will arrive March 23rd.
