Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl are back in this sequel to 2010’s Kick-Ass. Kick-Ass 2 is more emotional than the first film, focusing more on the characters and their struggle with identity. With the help of a few new real-life superheroes, they fight villains and figure out what it means to be true to who you are and to be a hero.

Kick-Ass 2 certainly kicks ass, but nowhere near the amount of ass that was kicked in the original Kick-Ass. Kick-Ass 2 didn’t (and perhaps shouldn’t) surpass the original, not by a long-shot. Sorry folks, this is no Lethal Weapon 2, but it will kick your ass, a little, the second time around.
