Red One

What would the world look like if, during the height of the Cold War, it was discovered that an American superhero was actually a deep cover Soviet operative?

That’s the premise behind the new Image Comics series Red One, penned by Xavier Dorison with art from Terry and Rachel Dodson, that debuts in March.

It’s 1977, and the Kremlin has devised a plan to tear America apart from the inside: have elite agent Vera Yelnikov convince the world she’s an American hero!

Yelnikov, while posing as Alabama Jones, must find a day job that hides her true directives: do the Kremlin’s bidding and lead a propaganda campaign of communist values from inside America itself.

She must also contend with The Carpenter, a fascist serial killer who blames liberals for America’s woes.

Red One hits store shelves March 18.
