Very few reviews have incited in me such curiosity and anxiety to try a game as this one. Fantastic writing.

This is what I love about casual games so much! They're such a simple format, and yet able to convey increasingly larger and more serious messages that have the potential to reach a vast audience (because of their ease of access and consumption).

Interesting, Iinterpreted the story as a critic on our pointless consumeristic society and the horror it unleashes on our world.

In Little Inferno, people buy things they don't need, only to burn them. The act of buying is the purpose and what generates short bursts of joy. But, by burning so much, people are making so much smoke that it's dimming the sunlight, making their world more colder, which makes people burn even more in order to stay warm.

In our World, we buy things we don't need, only to make more garbage. The act of buying itself is the purpose of our lives and it generates short bursts of joy. But, by consuming so much, we deplete our planet's resources so much, making so much garbage and demand so much energy that it's bringing mass extinctions, desertification of land, wars, poverty and global warming. And in order not to think about it, we lull ourselves with more shopping :) Even fixing things would demand more resources and energy which would make things worse.

That's just my interpretation, of course. I bet everyone has their own version. That's the beauty of Little Inferno :)
