Last Wednesday, MAD Magazine’s longest running contributor, Al Jaffee, celebrated his 95th birthday, and MAD sent us pictures of the event.

Al Jaffee received a mayoral proclamation, as well as an award from Guinness World Records for “Longest Career as a Comics Artist,” and a cake topped with a MAD fold-in.  2016 marks Al Jaffee’s 61st year working for MAD.

MAD Magazine’s longest running contributor, Al Jaffee celebrated his 95th birthday last night at Sardi’s Restaurant in New York.
The legendary cartoonist was honored with an official proclamation from the Mayor’s office and was presented the Guinness World Record for “Longest Career as a Comics Artist.”  Jaffee continues to be the creative genius behind the iconic MAD “fold-in” as he celebrates his 61st anniversary with the New York-based publishing institution.
