Wizard World announced today that WETA Workshop will display their Middle Earth design work at three Wizard World Comic Cons this May, with booths, panels, and demos slated for Minneapolis, Philadelphia, and St. Louis.  WETA is probably most famous for their work in The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies,  A select few LOTR fans in attendance at this con have an opportunity to one-up their Trekkie friends by getting Hobbit ear prosthetics applied by the world famous hair and makeup artist Warren Dion Smith.

The multi-Academy Award® winning New Zealand design studio and physical manufacturing facility will show off some of their best work at three Wizard World Comic Con shows in May at its visually striking Exhibitor Booth. Weta Workshop’s body of work includes movies like The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Avatar, District 9, Chappie and many more.

Weta will set up at Wizard World events in Minneapolis (May 1-3), Philadelphia (May 7-10) and St. Louis (May 22-24).

Fans can meet Warren Dion Smith , international multi-award-winning hair and makeup artist at all three shows and have an opportunity to get a pair of Hobbit ears applied by one of the best in the business.

Fans who want to learn more about the makeup and prosthetics craft should also attend the Weta panels where Warren will perform a major Middle-earth makeup transformation on stage while fielding questions from the crowd.

In addition, VIP attendees will receive an exclusive limited edition art print by The Hobbit concept art director and world renowned Tolkien artist John Howe.
