Valiant Previews for 2/11: Rai and Quantum & Woody!
I’ve already covered Valiant’s new title for 2/11, and I’ve already spoken before about what makes these two books, and Rai in particular, so special.
That done, let’s take a look at what’s else Valiant has lined up this week! Rai keeps barrelling forward as tensions on New Japan come to a head. We also get a glimpse of what Spylocke is doing on Earth, and I suspect it’ll have something to do with the first glimpse we got of life in the year 4,001. (That link only counts as a spoiler if I’m right in my guess.)

Next up is Q2: The Return of Quantum & Woody, from original Q&W creators Christopher Priest and M.D. Bright. The two are wrapping up their revisiting of the world of the old Quantum & Woody. I’ve been surprised by how much the story stands on its own. The old book certainly funnels into it, but by and large we’re seeing a new story play out. I haven’t had the chance to read all of the old stuff, but that hasn’t hurt me as much as I thought it would.
The end of a Q&W arc is always fun, and always a bit of a relief, as all of the threads that Priest weaves in all the different times and places his story covers finally all draw together. His work can take patience to get into at the front end, but that patience pays off when it’s all said and done.
