Trailer Park #7
In this edition of trailer park – Renny Harlin is back doing action flicks in Hercules, we board the YA gravy train with Vampire Academy, Liam Neeson does his thing in Taken 3 I mean Non-Stop, and Darren Aronofsky builds a bigger boat in Noah.
HERCULES: THE LEGEND BEGINS
Who: Renny Harlin, Kellan Lutz, Gaia Weiss
What: When prince Hercules learns of his real identity, he must choose to flee with his true love – Hebe, Princess of Crete – or to fulfill his destiny by overthrowing the tyrannical rule of the king and restoring peace to a land in hardship.
We Say: 300 has A LOT to answer for. That being said, Renny Harlin can do action…
VAMPIRE ACADEMY
Who: Mark Waters, Zoey Deutch, Lucy Fry
What: Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, half human/vampire, guardians of the Moroi, peaceful, mortal vampires living discretely within our world. Her legacy is to protect the Moroi from bloodthirsty, immortal Vampires, the Strigoi. This is her story.
We Say: The director of Mean Girls doing a film about Vamps at school…could work. Being that there are already six books in the series, I’ll bet they are praying this one works and turns into a cash cow.
NON-STOP
Who: Jaume Collett-Serra, Liam Neeson, Julianne Moore
What: An air marshall must spring into action aboard an international flight.
We say: Sounds generic, looks generic….but Liam Neeson continues his action renaissance!
NOAH
Who: Darren Aronofsky, Emma Watson, Jennifer Connelly
What: Noah suffers visions of an apocalyptic deluge and takes measures to protect his family from the coming flood.
We say: Always a risk to do a Biblical based story, but Aronofsky has a big name cast and some big ambitions. This could be the epic of 2014 or the epic fail of 2014.
