DC Comic’s most infamous villains take center stage this fall with Forever Evil, the first crossover miniseries for the New 52.
Debuting this September for DC Comics’ Villain Month, Forever Evil is a seven-issue miniseries by Geoff Johns and David Finch, the creative team behind Justice League of America. Taking advantage of the heroes’ absence, the villains rise up following the aftermath of the Trinity War crossover featured in all three Justice League books.
“We’re really exploring what darkness means and the different kinds of darkness that are within these villains,” Johns told USA Today about the event.
According the Johns, Lex Luthor is the central character in Forever Evil and his actions will have “major repercussions through the DC Universe.” Additionally, Batman’s feline anti-hero, Catwoman, will play an important role in the miniseries as well as future issues of Justice League of America.
For Villain Month, September will see 52 nemeses from DC Comics grace the cover of their hero’s title and renamed after them. While original villains won’t appear for Villain Month, revamped foes like the female Ventriloquist from Batgirl and returning ones like the two-year missing Darkseid will. All villain-themed books including Forever Evil will feature 3D-motion covers as the below gifs from BuzzFeed illustrate.
