The second season of Sailor Moon R is now available to pre-order for Blu-ray and DVD, according to anime distributor Viz Media. Set to be released on July 14th, Sailor Moon R Season 2, Set 1 will come in a Limited Edition Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack and a Standard DVD edition as well. All major online retailers are taking pre-orders, but fans who use Right Stuff will receive an exclusive goldtone coin featuring Sailor Moon’s second transformation brooch and iconic transformation phrase (while supplies last).
Both editions of Sailor Moon R Season 2, Set 1 are rated “TV-PG” and contain episodes 47-69 of the series. In addition to the special premium packaging, there will be some notable bonus features and dual-audio tracks of the uncut English Dub and Japanese subtitled track. The Limited Edition Sailor Moon R Set 1 Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack is priced at $79.98 U.S. / $93.99 CAN. The Standard Edition DVD is priced at $44.82 U.S. / $51.99 CAN.
The Limited Edition Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack contains six discs (three DVDs and three Blu-rays) in a package covered with “beautiful reflective holofoil slipcover with specialty printing.” Bonus content includes a 96-page full-color episode guide along with exclusive interviews with the English cast, a special behind-the-scenes peek at the recording sessions to create the new English dub, and a video art gallery and official series trailers. Blu-ray episodes are presented in 1080p video preserving the original 4:3 aspect ratio.
The Standard DVD set will only feature three discs, but will have “beautifully illustrated variant O-card packaging and embossed holofoil printing.” TV presentation will be at 480p standard video format.
