Riverdale: It’s Edgy, almost too edgy

It’s all happening at Riverdale. Affairs, artistic styles and deaths are all being revealed this week. The CW has debuted the first official image, which fits with some of the comparisons made by the stars about it having a Twin Peaks feel. There’s also a death, but more importantly, young Archie is going to have an affair with Ms. Grundy! Perhaps there were warning signs all along.

The first official trailer image has an isolated feel from a horror movie, or Twin Peaks, with a sunken boat in the foreground and an empty fog covered forest in the distance. It’s certainly intriguing.

Was there something else? Yes, young Archie is going to have an affair with the very old Miss Grundy. If you know the comics you will be having some very strange mental images right now of a young, fresh faced Archie and an elderly Miss Grundy engaged in…something. Alright, in Riverdale old Miss Grundy is young Ms. Grundy and is played by 33-year-old Sarah Habel (Underemployed), and with the way TV works the character of Ms. Grundy may well be in her early twenties, but is Archie still 16? They might have to tread carefully with this one.

Also the dead character is Jason Blossom.
