I think many people forget that some of their favorite Comics characters used to have their own daily Comic Strips. Everyday you would get just a little bit of a grand story to go along with your monthly book purchases. How awesome is that?

“I didn’t want one human being to be Spider-Man-less!” – Stan Lee

This review is for The Amazing Spider-Man: The Ultimate Newspaper Comics Collection – Volume 2: 1979-1981. This book is full of some classic Stan Lee, John Romita Sr., and Larry Lieber stories, featuring our “Friendly Neighborhood Web-Slinger, Spider-Man”. There are many characters in these stories that you may be familar with, like The Kingpin, Kraven The Hunter, J Jonah Jameson, and Aunt May. There are also many who make a brief appearance, like Elton John, The Village People, Abe Vigoda, Redd Foxx, and Jimmy Carter. What’s that you say? They aren’t Comics characters? No, they are not. They are just some of the real life people that were drawn into the Comic Strip because why not?

Thanks to Marvel, IDW, and The Library Of American Comics, we are given an opportunity to enjoy these classic Comic Strips, in their original formats (Monday thru Saturday Black & White, Sunday Color). I recommend this book for any fan, but especially the fans of Spider-Man.
