Probably the best curated package in nerd-themed subscription boxes is still LootCrate, which not only puts a lot of great product in their boxes, but also a lot of thought towards establishing a theme so that subscribers have not only monthly treasure to enjoy, but a nerd-cultural experience to look forward to sharing with their friends on social media.  November’s theme was Combat, and the box that LootCrate sent to NerdSpan was packed to the brim with fascinating goodies.

First out of the box was a Cute But Deadly Series 1 Figure blind box from Blizzard Entertainment.

Additionally, there is a LootCrate exclusive set of Cute But Deadly magnets.

Next, we have a Vault Boy Bobblehead.  This bobblehead has a pose exclusive to this LootCrate.  A note on the side says “Vault Boy bobbleheads will permanently increase your skills and stats!”  As the rest of my family keeps reminding me, “he looks like Tintin!”

This pin for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 is really sharp, both big enough to be noticed and complimented and small enough so it isn’t ostentatious.

This isn’t the only wearable pin in this box either, as you have the November 2015 LootCrate Combat pinback button  to add to your collection.

Comic collectors will be glad to get this LootCrate exclusive Street Fighter: Hyper Looting #1, and it comes bagged and boarded, never fear.

Not just a variant cover, this comic book in the entirety of its print run is available only in the November LootCrate.  While the print run is no doubt pretty high compared to traditionally distributed comic books, this comic will still be pretty collectible due to the direct distribution model.  You can’t just walk into the comic shop or Barnes & Noble to buy this one—you either have to buy LootCrate or know someone who does.

While I wouldn’t recommend it for sun-tanning unless you want a white forehead, the Shredder Shades are super cool.  If you wear your sunglasses at night, these shades are for you.

In addition to the box itself, its contents and the monthly LootCrate magazine, LootCrate has also included four gift tags for regifting any contents to friends and family.

Overall the November LootCrate was a big box of fun, with an eclectic assortment of nerd collectibles to interest not just LootCrate subscribers but also some items with a more general fandom appeal (the Mockingjay pin, the Shredder sunglasses), so that some of these items may indeed be regifted this holiday season.  On the other hand, this is a sweet box and it is just as likely to be hoarded by the subscriber.

If you feel like you were left out on this one, you may want to place your subscription now to avoid disappointment next month.  Currently, LootCrate is taking orders for their Galaxy themed crate, which promises to have exclusive Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Halo 5: Guardians products, and should prove to be extremely popular.  You only have nine days left to get yours.
