A trio of works from the legendary Garth Ennis have found a new home at Image Comics.

The publisher will produce new editions of three classic Ennis works, Bloody Mary, Pride and Joy and Adventures in the Rifle Brigade, throughout 2016. All three series were originally published by DC Comics.

The first to see print is Bloody Mary, which hits comic shops March 9. A third great European conflict has brought the world’s major powers into a war of attrition. Mary Malone, the deadliest assassin in a land of deadly assassins, much take on both a man who can’t die and a cult leader with followers eager to die for him.

“It’s fantastic to see Bloody Mary back in print in this new edition from Image, said Ennis. “About time, really, Mary’s been missing in action for far too long.”

Series artist Carlos Ezquerra says Mary “is one of his most beloved comic characters.”

May 4 sees the release of Pride and Joy, with art by John Higgins.

Jimmy Kavanagh lives a quiet existence in the backwoods of New England, raising his devoted daughter and resentful son following the passing of his wife. Unfortunately for Jimmy, fate comes calling, and his criminal past threatens to tear his family apart.

The final volume is Adventures In The Rifle Brigade, which also features Ezquerra on art duties.

Set during World War II, the series shines the spotlight on the Rifle Brigade, the top commando team in Britain. The team members are skilled, deadly and possess a tenuous grip on reality.

Captain Darcy, “Doubtful” Milk, Sergeant Crumb, Corporal Geezer, Hank the Yank and The Piper are determined to win the war by themselves, and plan to send as many of Hitler’s goons to their maker in the process.

First up, the team is assigned a mission so top secret that they have no idea what the actually mission is. In “Operation Bollock” the team must track down a famous missing piece from Hitler’s anatomy. Yes, that piece.

Adventures In The Rifle Brigade is scheduled for a July release.
