Dynamite has announced its New York Comic Con panel, convention exclusives, and booth guests, as well as the unexpected announcement that they would be bringing internet celebrity Grumpy Cat to the Jacob Javits Convention Center as well. No stranger to conventions—she was at Vidcon 2014—Grumpy Cat has grumpily deigned to make her first appearance at a comic book convention. This comes the same week as the release of her the new comic book that features her, The Misadventures of Grumpy Cat and Pokey, to comic book shops.

Laurel, NJ: Dynamite Entertainment is pleased to announce their participation in next week’s New York Comic-Con, taking place from October 8th through 11th at the Jacob Javits Convention Center. Dynamite, a leading publisher of comic books and graphic novels, will host a booth, welcome creator guests for signings, highlight their current and upcoming projects in a Thursday morning panel, offer seven exclusive New York Comic-Con comic books, and offer retro Vampirella t-shirts (only available at conventions) to attending fans. The Dynamite booth number is #2129.
Grumpy Cat, the “World’s Grumpiest Cat” and lovable internet phenomenon, will be available for photo opportunities at the Dynamite booth on Thursday from 1:30pm to 3:00pm. Artist Ken Haeser, whose artwork graces the Grumpy Cat comics (as well as the Living Corpse comic series and numerous Dynamite variant covers), will sign at the Dynamite booth and accept commission requests throughout the day on Saturday. Additional creator guests will appear at the booth; fans are encouraged to follow Dynamite’s social media for the latest updates and signing times.

Laurel, NJ: Dynamite is proud to announce that the one and only Grumpy Cat, “The World’s Grumpiest Cat”, will be a making a special appearance at this year’s New York Comic Con. Catch Grumpy on Thursday, October 8th, from 1:30pm to 3:00pm at Dynamite Booth #2129. This will be Grumpy Cat’s first-ever appearance at a comic book convention. Photo ops will be available on-site; details on arrangements will be outlined at the booth.
The appearance is timed to help commemorate the release of Grumpy’s first-ever comic book, The Misadventures of Grumpy Cat and Pokey #1, which will be hitting comics retailers worldwide, as well as leading digital distributors, on Wednesday, October 7th. Issue #1 features Grumpy and her brother, Pokey, in the first of her all-new misadventures in a three-issue miniseries shipping monthly October through December.
When asked for comment on her momentous first issue, Grumpy stated: “I haven’t seen it yet, but I’m sure it’s terrible… and look forward to using copies as scratching post material.”
Dynamite Series Editor Rich Young says, “I’ve had a blast editing these comics, and contrary to what Grumpy might think, I believe fans of Grumpy Cat are going to get a real kick out of seeing her in comic book form, and the trouble that she and her brother Pokey manage to get into (and out of).”
