Geek Start a Gogo, Week One: Dynagirl
Posted By Bill Ostroff on January 7, 2013
This story chronicles the adventures of a superhero single mom. After gaining powers at a very early age, Kerri Masters ran into one serious life event after another. She was enslaved by a maniacal villain, forced to help some of the world most heinous villains, kill her live-in boyfriend rather than watch him destroy the world, and found herself alone and carrying a child who could well develop more power than both of his parents combined. Raising kids is already a herculean challenge. Raising a kid with enough power to crack planets is a whole new ballgame! After five years of retirement, Dynagirl has the urge and the opportunity to return to hero work, but should she?
Overall Theme: At the heart of things, Dynagirl is about how very real the whole hero game can come to be, and how our choices in life stay with us forever. Sure, she might stop a plane from crashing into the ocean, or save an old lady from crossing the street into oncoming traffic, but she’s still got every day life, and her son, to deal with when she goes home at night. With this story we tackle things most comics never go anywhere near, and we do it because it’s compelling and makes for a great comic.
Our characters are regular normal people faced with incredible situations. Dynagirl is without a doubt a character driven story centering mainly on our main character, but also tossing several other very interesting and flawed individuals into the mix as her supporting cast.
