Drop Everything and Watch: Sailor Moon Comes to Hulu
Sailor Moon has a special place in the heart of nearly every woman who lived through the 90s. The anime was a part of Toonami’s afternoon lineup, part of an after-school routine for fans of the pretty guardians in sailor uniforms. Since it left the airwaves, fans had no way to legally watch the classic series without spending an outrageous amount of money. Now, thanks to VIZ, we get to relive every magical transformation of all 200 episodes of the original series.
That’s right – Sailor Moon is back! Every Monday, Neon Alley and Hulu will debut 2 of the original episodes with updated English subtitles (updated English dubs with a new voice cast to come at a later date). The release will include Sailor Moon, Sailor Moon R, Sailor Moon S, Sailor Moon Super S, Sailor Moon Sailor Stars, and, for the first time ever in a North American audience, Sailor Moon Crystal.
Not only will all the episodes be streamed and available to all audiences, VIZ will be releasing the series on DVD and Blu Ray expected Fall 2014. Oh, have we mentioned that all the original story elements, Japanese names, and relationships will be preserved in this rerelease? If you aren’t fangirling by now, you should be.

VIZ Media will be celebrating SAILOR MOON at the 2014 Anime Expo, taking place July 3rd–6th at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, CA. Now celebrating its 23nd consecutive year, Anime Expo is sponsored by the SPJA and is the nation’s largest anime convention. VIZ Media will host a variety of special activities and panels throughout “Sailor Moon Day,” on Saturday July 5th. More details forthcoming.
