Well, color me copacetic, because DC Comics has rolled out the red carpet for these adult coloring book variants arriving in January.  Not that these are adult in terms of having R or X rated content, but DC Comics is creating comic book covers that may satisfy the current craze for adult coloring books.  Adult coloring books have a higher degree of intricacy than children’s coloring books, and are said to be a relaxing and satisfying pastime for the overstimulated.  They will also be extremely desirable to collectors of black and white variant covers.

The variant images below include Mike Allred’s cover to Green Lantern #48, Scott Kolin’s cover to Action Comics #48, Cully Hammer’s cover to Green Arrow #48, and Timothy Green II’s cover to Detective Comics #48.  Fans that want to have a dry run before coloring the real deal next month can print out these images for practice (click the images to enlarge before printing).
