April is Manga Month and Anime All Access at Previews, and the April 2015 issue takes a look at manga publishers and their comics, as well as anime-inspired merchandise.  Previews interviews VIZ Media managing editor Hope Donovan about her work in bringing manga to the western market and also asks the more fundamental questions, such as what is manga and just how much of it is available (tons).  Previews also interviews Narae Lee, the artist for Yen Press’ Maximum Ride manga.

The cover story, however, is about J. G. Jones and Mark Waid’s new series, Strange Fruit, which marks the first time that a BOOM! Studios title has been featured on the front cover of Previews.  The back cover is a promo for Bryan Hitch taking the reins to Justice League of America.

The Previews Gems of the Month include: Gene Luen Yang joins the Superman creative team in Superman #41; IDW collects Alex Toth’s Bravo for Adventure for the first time; Jeff Lemire and Dean Ormston’s Black Hammer arrives from Dark Horse Comics; Brian Woods’ Starve, about a reality cooking show taken to the next level, arrives from Image Comics; and, Groot gets his own series at Marvel from Jeff Loveness and Brian Kesinger.

A Calendars section shows off some of the best calendars available, and in the Exclusive Apparel section, the highlight is on the following tees:  Daredevil stands sentinel above his city on the Daredevil: “Gargoyle” Charcoal T-Shirt; Han Solo is encased in carbonite on the Star Wars: “Free Han Solo” White T-Shirt; and, the future of law enforcement awaits on the Robocop: ED-209 Blue T-Shirt.

In the Splash section, we see some June product, such as Airboy, the 2015 Overstreet Price Guide, and Spider-Man: Renew Your Vows.

The April 2015 Previews arrives on Wednesday, March 25th in comic shops with a lower cover price of $3.99.
