Albert the Alien Comes to Thrillbent!
Posted By Leo Johnson on September 26, 2013
As Thrillbent continues to grow and expand, it seems bringing more comics under their umbrella is part of their plans. The newest comic to call Thrillbent home is going to be Albert the Alien, debuting October 1st and posting each Tuesday after that.
Seeing Thrillbent grow and welcome a diverse mix of comics and creators, both known and unknown, into its company is great. Since Thrillbent was such an original and interesting idea when it first began, it’s interesting to see it grow and change as the months pass and the interests of Mark Waid and John Rogers change and grow. Albert is the first Thrillbent title that could truly be considered all-ages, so it’ll be a nice addition to the lineup of the site.

From the press release: “Meet Earth’s first intergalactic exchange student! Thrillbent Digital Comics is pleased to announce its newest series, ALBERT THE ALIEN, by Trevor Mueller and Gabriel Bautista.
Said Mueller, “We were approached by Thrillbent co-founder Mark Waid, who had expressed interest in the project. Gabe and I definitely wanted to attach it to a publisher, having just launched it on the web earlier that month.” Originally premiering in the 2010 Reading With Pictures anthology, ALBERT THE ALIEN, converted to the “Thrillbent format,” debuts Tuesday, October 1. New readers can “deep dive” into ALBERT’s back catalog for free, with new installments posting each subsequent Tuesday.
“We think Thrillbent is doing some great things in the digital space,” said Mueller, “playing with the format and changing the way stories can be told on devices and the web, and were very humbled that someone like Mark wanted Albert to be a part of it. It was fun converting the existing pages into the Thrillbent format and changing the way the story would be experienced by readers – in a clever and unique way.”
